This is what she has to say on how she started her business by just helping a neighbor, which lead her to win an award as one of the most Influential Young Fullah Women in Sierra Leone.
“I did my first makeup for a bride on the 3rd of May 2016 when one of my neighbours asked me to help dress her sister for her wedding ceremony. At first I was hesitant to do it because I have never done it for a bride before but she told me how she admires the way I do my makeup and hijab styles. I got inspired to do it by what she said to me. Upon seeing the bride after I had done the makeup, I got inspired to start Swadu Jay’s Makeover. I never thought my brand will grow this big but thanks to a friend of mine who suggested it should be advert on social media. I first open a Facebook page and named it Swadu Jay’s Beauty but when I got certified as a makeup artist in 2017 ,I changed the name to Swadu Jay’s Makeover and my motto as ‘Brightening your beauty’.
Alhamdulillah now I can do all types of hijab styles and makeup for weddings, naming ceremonies, parties, photo-shoots, casuals and many more occasions. Recently I received an award as the most Influential Female Youth of the Fullah tribe because of my committed work in beautifying brides and young women for any occasion in Sierra Leone .
